See how this family’s living room went from empty to wow!
All before the kids came home from school.
The homeowner sent me the following 2 images of rooms she loved.
(and who wouldn’t)
And I turned her empty room into this –
All in ONE afternoon.
First, I started a few days before the homeowner Erin and I went shopping.
I created a plan for us to follow and emailed Erin to see what she thought of the idea boards.
The floor plan help Erin envision the furniture in her space.
The design board helped her “shop” for the space without leaving her home.
Erin and I started our day at HomeGoods.
We filled our carts and moved on to the next stop. IKEA.
Then Home Depot, Stable Tables, and back home to Erin’s to set everything up.
Erin’s budget was around $5,000.
We spent $3,000.
Don’t forget, we started with an EMPTY room.
Here’s the “before” again…
And some “afters”…
Knowing local craftsman and artist is a plus too!
We visited the workshop of John Duffy, owner of

We peeked at John’s in-stock inventory and found the perfect pieces for Erin’s living room.

We bought plumbing pipes and drop clothes to hang over the french doors.
(not hung at the time of theses photos)
Thanks to the scrap pile at Stable Tables for this wood for the bar shelves.
Here’s the bar wall before…
I’m loving how this room came together. Are you?
And, since I am addicted to instant gratification, it’s fun to work with clients who are ready to make decisions and purchases to get the job done!
