With the help of Cost Plus World Market I added Bohemian accents to my walk in closet…which is just a really small bedroom.
I didn’t want to room to be too “Marsha Brady” , just pops of bohemian style and color here and there.
When we moved into this home in 2014, my son Jonas was given the room right next to mine. I thought he was pretty lucky to have his bedroom connected to a full bath. Jonas didn’t think so. He preferred to have his bedroom in the giant landing area at the top of the stairs. Sounds strange, I know. Ironically enough the kid knew what he was doing and his space turned out perfectly for him. (more on that room later this month)
I decided to make this tiny bedroom a dressing room/walk in closet with a little boho flare.
Here’s how it turned out…
I mixed different patterns, metal and textures for a carefree boho vibe.
Copper has quickly become my go to metal and a definite “must have” for every boho lover.
I used the hammered copper utensil holder to coral my hair brushes.
I love when a room touches all your senses. So I love to add candles whenever possible. This tobacco flower candle smells amazing! Lighting a candle always seems to make me stop and slow down a bit…which is a good thing.
I used some other copper mugs to hold my makeup brushes.
I’ve never had tapas…but this tapas bowl is perfect for dropping my bracelets into at the end of the night. And the color is the perfect addition to the room.
I tried to have small bits of turquoise around the room to allow your eye to travel around the room.
My favorite vintage thrift store chair was a great addition to the room. It gives my girls a place to sit and chat with me while I’m in here.
Another metal fav of my is this copper ice bucket. The warm patina is amazing! I filled the bucket with scarves, which I can wait to start wearing this fall. Leaving them out where I can see them reminds me to throw one on.
I love the combination of all these textures and colors together.
The rug is a little stretch for me style-wise…but I’m so glad I decided on it for this room. The blues and greens and browns work perfectly.
A big clothes hamper is a must in a dressing room. This banana leaf basket is both stylish and functional.
On the closet door I hung an old window screen to hang my necklaces from. This is an easy project and I’ll give more details in a future post.
The room turned out so functional and stylish, I’m glad Jonas decided he didn’t want this space for himself.
