You guys are the best. When I posted this spur of the moment craft on instagram, you all went crazy. Sometimes the last minute crafts are the best.
It all started because I decided to clean out and organize my craft dresser. It was starting to become the junk drawer of the craft world.
Here’s a little bit of what I found. So, I threw a few items together and created a mason jar wall hanging.
I never used embossing paste before. But, it appeared to be a pretty easy process.
You slather the paste over top of a stencil and hope for the best.
I had to let it dry overnight, so it delayed my need for instant gratification, but it was all worth it.
It turned out perfect, or perfect enough.
It adds a little dimension to the typical stencil and would be super cure on furniture.
You can add drops of paint to the texture paste to change the color but I kept mine white.
You can also rub stain or dark wax over the stencil when it’s dry to create an aged look, or even more dimension. I took the lazy girls way and left it white.
I had tons of fabric flowers I purchased on etsy 2 years ago for another project. I glued fabric flowers to the top and voile. Instant super cute sign.
I couldn’t stop there since I was testing out all the craft supplies I had stored in my drawers, but never used.
I used this alphabet stamping kit to add a little detail to the top of the sign.
Totally adorbs, right?
I love a little therapeutic crafting, especially when it’s spur of the moment and free.
I think this will find a place on the gallery wall in Lucy’s room.
