This hanging metal bucket planter couldn’t be simpler, but I bet you’ve never thought of it.
Kick up your curb appeal this Spring with this charming hanging fern in a metal bucket…hung with some thick rustic rope.
- 2 metal buckets with handles
- 2 yards of thick rope
- 1 galvanized metal hook
- Fern or plant of your choice
- drill and drill bits
I tied 2 buckets together with thick rope (all from Home Depot) and hung from a hook in my porch ceiling.
Be sure to drill drainage holes in the bottom of the bucket so your plant is not sitting in sopping wet soil. I also added some empty water bottles and small rocks to take up space and help with drainage.
The label on the bucket added to the charm so I left it on one of the buckets.
Be sure to hang your plant where it gets the appropriate amount of light. Our planter is hung above our mailbox. It’s out of the way and still gets the light it needs to grow and thrive throughout the summer.
