REFRESHING MY FRONT PORCH WITH COFFEE SACK COVERED CHAIRS:
Black, white and green are my go to colors. I’ve loved this combo for years. It’s fresh with just enough contrast. This combo was used recently on my front porch. The arm less brown chairs came with white cushions, which didn’t stay white for long. I had thought about sending them to the seamstress to recover, but hated the thought of the cost of that project.
Then it hit me. I’ve loved the look of coffee sack covered chairs forever! See HERE. So why not do the same to these porch chairs?
It’s not a particularly difficult project…If you’re lucky enough to have cushions about the same size as a coffee sack – no sewing is required at all. Slip the cushion into the sack and fold the edges behind the cushion.
The seat cushions were the perfect fit for the coffee sacks. The back cushions were a little loose. But, I just folded and tucked the extra fabric. If you’re more talented than me, you can cut and sew the sack together in the back. That’s no necessary for me. I’m fine with the imperfect look.
The coffee sack cushions have been out on my porch for a few weeks now and have stayed in place just fine.
