If you’re a sewer…look away!
I’m going to show you how to embellish your curtain panels with NO SEWING!
These “no sew” embellished curtains panels where easy to make and I was kicking myself for putting the project off for so many months.
Supplies you’ll need to embellish your curtains:
- pre-made curtain panels
- trim (I chose burlap webbing)
- hot glue gun and sticks
- a large surface to work on
The bird/floral curtains have been around my house for a while. There’s something about this pattern that gets me. I loved it so much I bought a second pair just in case I ever move and need an additional set. Here’s the key to “no sew” embellished curtain panels.
First thing I did was give the edges of the curtain panels a quick ironing.
The trim was only going to be added to the inside edge of each panel. So I was careful to add one length of trim to the RIGHT side of one panel and then to the LEFT side of the other panel.
(I’m lying, I really wasn’t careful and added the trim to the right side of both panels, then had to go back and rip the burlap webbing off one curtain panel and start again!)
I lined the burlap webbing up with the top edge of my panel. Since it’s a pretty thick burlap, it doesn’t really fray. But, if your worrying about your trim fraying, just wrap it around to the back side of the curtain panel. I promise it’s still no sew.
Roll the burlap webbing down the entire length of the panel before you started gluing.
Follow the hemmed edge of your curtain panel to be sure that you’re gluing in a straight line.
When I reached the end of the panel I wrapped the burlap around to the back of the curtain. (hot gluing the webbing to the curtain all the way)
And that’s how you make No Sew Embellished Curtain Panels!
