What do you do with your old rustic belts?
Here’s how to turn them into a rustic belt flower vase.
Here;s what you’ll need to create your own Rustic Belt Flower Vase:
- at least 5 belts
- large vessel
- fresh flowers!
I purchased a variety of belts from the thrift store. Varies colors, widths and textures. The more variety, the better. I did stay with one color – everything in the brown family. Brown makes it look a little more rustic. But, you could go with colorful belts and fill with white flowers.
The larger the vase the better. These extra large mason jars were perfect for creating the rustic belt flower vase. You’ll want to use a vessel that does not tapper at the top or bottom. A symmetrical cylinder is the best for this project.
Wrap your jars around and around, layering over top of the previous belt as you go. Carefree and lose is best, this is not a project for perfectionists.
Several jars were used in my project. I like the look of the rustic belt vases clustered together. If you had an event with a color theme, you could do each jar in one color and line the vase straight down the center of the table. A collection of rainbow belts would be cute for a kids party.
My idea even made it into The Best of Flea Market Style Magazine! Summer 2017
